Toroslar Elektrik Dağıtım Anonim Şirketi (Toroslar EDAŞ) initiated the giant infrastructure investment project that has a budget of TL 15 million in July with the goal to meet the increasing energy demand of the region uninterruptedly and in high quality.
With the goal to increase the energy supply security of the region through the “Tekstil Kent Demokrasi Boulevard - Distribution Structures Rehabilitation Project”, Toroslar EDAŞ will increase the capacity of the network in the region, considering the future energy demand. The project will be held in coordination with the central reserve and sidewalk works to be carried out by Gaziantep Municipality on the Demokrasi Boulevard of Tekstil Kent Neighborhood.
Toroslar EDAŞ will move the overhead lines in the region with the goal to provide higher quality and uninterrupted energy to approximately 4,000 businesses and production facilities. The investment works will be completed by November 2022.
In addition to replacing the existing overhead network with an underground line and increasing the capacity, the project will enable the supply security to be improved by alternative supplies during power failures via ring networks between the distribution centers.
The length of the excavation works to be carried out by Toroslar EDAŞ at various locations as part of the project will amount to 4,200 meters. 41 LV poles, 34 lighting poles and nearly 30,000 meters of conductors carrying the distribution lines that have completed their economic life in the region will be disassembled, so that the aerial network-based facade of the boulevard will have a more modern outlook.
Toroslar EDAŞ will move the existing pole-type energy transmission lines underground in the region, and will install 9,872 meters of HV cables in total in addition to 10,000 meters of LV cables. The company will complete the installation works for 90 LED fixtures on 46 galvanized poles with 34 site distribution boxes and an underground lighting line of nearly 2,000 meters.
In electricity distribution infrastructure investments, power cuts are scheduled in advance by Toroslar EDAŞ for the safety of field workers. To avoid any adverse impact on customers, these scheduled outages are announced on the website of Toroslar EDAŞ 48 hours in advance. On the other hand, users can also access these announcements as well as information on the existing and future scheduled outages through Toroslar EDAŞ Mobile 186 application and 186 Call Centre.
