As one of the 3 electricity distributions companies which achieved the highest amount of investment in 2024, Toroslar EDAŞ invested more than 381 million TL in Mersin, one of the most significant port cities in Türkiye, in the first half of 2025 to rehabilitate the energy infrastructure to meet requirements of today, while also preparing the infrastructure for the increasing demands of the future.

In the first half of 2025, the company completed the maintenance works of 9,642 lighting fixtures, corresponding to a year-on-year increase of 30%, 1,394-km-long cables, corresponding to a year-on-year increase of 10%, 908 panels, corresponding to a year-on-year increase of 96%, 258 substations, corresponding to a year-on-year increase of 49%, and 461 distribution centers, corresponding to a year-on-year increase of 46%. Furthermore, the company strengthened its energy infrastructure as part of new investments by installing 750-km-long cable lines, corresponding to a year-on-year increase of 40%, 6,211 new lighting fixtures corresponding to a year-on-year increase of 5%, 546 new panels, corresponding to a year-on-year increase of 21%, and 278 new substations, corresponding to a year-on-year increase of 40%.
Sustaining its efforts to establish a sustainable and better future, Toroslar EDAŞ enhanced its measures to protect forest areas from wildfires in Mersin, where over 50 percent of the city is covered with forests in terms of surface area and there is more than 4,400 square meters of forest per person.
The company, which completed the maintenance works on electricity distribution lines in the region, has accelerated the use of fire-risk-reducing materials and laid gravel or poured lean concrete under poles within forest areas.
Thanks to the ongoing and coordinated efforts of the company together with public institutions and organizations to combat possible wildfires in the region, Toroslar EDAŞ supported the efforts through controlled power outages and put relentless efforts to identify and swiftly replace the damaged energy infrastructure.
