Toroslar EDAŞ invests TL 1.5 billion in Hatay in 8 years

  • Sustaining its activities with the purpose to supply high-quality and uninterrupted energy in all provinces that the Company serves, Toroslar EDAŞ has been carrying out its operations in Hatay uninterruptedly since 2013, when the electricity distribution activities were transferred to the private sector

Toroslar EDAŞ invested TL 1.5 billion (with prices of June 2021) in Hatay from 2013, when the electricity distribution activities were transferred to the private sector, until the end of 2021.

Carrying out its activities with the awareness on the significance of electricity at every step of the modern life, Toroslar EDAŞ commissioned new investments as part of its activities in full compliance with the legislation, and also completed the maintenance works for the network and equipment.

Accordingly, the Company carried out maintenance works of over TL 82 million in 2017-2021 period in addition to investments worth TL 1.5 billion. As part of the maintenance works, 27,432 km of overhead/underground grid lines were maintained, while 33,316 equipment and grid components were rehabilitated.

The company, with its core responsibilities including the operation of the electricity distribution network, maintenance to avoid possible wear-outs, fault repair works due to natural events such as floods, heavy snow, storms or 3rd parties, and investments to meet the increasing energy demand, has strengthened Hatay since the date of the transfer.

  • The length of the underground grid increased by 4.5 times, approximately 330,000 faults fixed

Toroslar EDAŞ increased the length of the underground grid by 345% and the substation installed capacity by 55% to meet the requirements.

Accordingly, 1,278 transformers with an installed capacity of 819 megawatts, 1,861 kilometers of underground low voltage lines, 980 kilometers of underground medium voltage lines, 1,666 kilometers of overhead low voltage lines and 616 kilometers of overhead medium voltage line grid components were included to the electricity distribution grid in Hatay.

Carrying out the grid maintenance and fault processes with the same quality and devotion for 8 years, Toroslar EDAŞ swiftly responded to 331,507 faults in Hatay to ensure energy supply and continuity.

  • Over 8 million customer demands met

The company sustained its investments to meet the increasing energy demand and prevent unscheduled outages due to faults with uncertain durations and timing.

Carefully planning the scheduled interruptions required for the Occupational Health and Safety of its site employees during the commissioning of the investments, Toroslar EDAŞ shared the times and locations of the interruptions on its website 48 hours in advance so that the interruptions do not adversely affect its customers. The Company also informed its customers, who keep their contact and address information up to date, about the interruptions via text messages.

Toroslar EDAŞ continues to serve with its 375 Call Center employees to assist its customers in all issues they may require including the scheduled and unscheduled outages.

Various channels developed for the customers, including 186 Call Center, Toroslar 186 Mobile Application, Toroslaredas.com.tr Web Site, WhatsApp Hotline at 0 (312) 186 00 00 and social media channels, enabled the company to evaluate and meet the demands of a total of 8,146,000 applications.
