- Toroslar EDAŞ sustained its leading position in the industry in terms of investment according to the 2022 report of Elder (Association of Distribution System Operators), the umbrella organization of 21 electricity distribution companies providing service throughout Turkey.
Toroslar Elektrik Dağıtım A.Ş. (Toroslar EDAŞ) sustained its leading position in having the highest investment amount among the electricity distribution companies in 2022, by carrying out investments of TL 2.6 billion in total in Adana, Gaziantep, Kilis, Mersin, Osmaniye and Hatay.
According to the 2022 industry report of the Association of Distribution System Operators (Elder), Toroslar EDAŞ ranked the 3rd in terms of the number of consumers, while hitting the top as the electricity distribution company that invested the highest amount with TL 2.6 billion per annum among 21 electricity distribution companies.
Thus, the company preserved its title as the investment leader of its industry with the investments carried out to meet the increasing energy demand in its region and to supply high-quality and uninterrupted energy.
Climbing to the top in the 3rd 5-year regulation period of 2016-2020, Toroslar EDAŞ began 2021, the first year of the fourth regulation period of 2021-2025, as the leader.
Considering the past 3 years, Toroslar EDAŞ invested TL 1.8 billion and TL 2.3 billion in 2020 and 2021, respectively, preserving the momentum in annual investment increase with the investment amount of the past year.
Thanks to these investments, the company replaced the aging components of the electricity distribution grid, which extends for kilometers in rural areas and supplies energy to the urban areas, and installed new lines for the expanding areas in cities.
Hence, Toroslar EDAŞ reached 147,262 kilometers of line length and 47,691 transformers by the end of last year.
Toroslar EDAŞ once again hit the top as the company that employed the highest number of employees, in terms of permanent staff and the total number of personnel, with 8,157 employees, 4,381 of which were permanent and 3,776 were subcontractors.
The number of permanent employees of Toroslar EDAŞ, which serves approximately 9% of the customers in Turkey with more than 4,308,000 consumers, constituted approximately 16% of the total number of permanent employees in the electricity distribution industry in Turkey.
While the average number of consumers per employee in 21 distribution regions was 728 during this period, the average number of consumers per 1 Toroslar EDAŞ employee decreased to 528 people. The company ranked among the top 3 companies in Turkey in terms of this ratio.
